As an Indian tourist visiting Almaty, I had a very upsetting experience at Nikulin Bar on 3rd April. During our visit, we unfortunately lost a bag containing cash at the venue. What followed was even more disappointing than the loss itself. When we approached the staff for help, they took the situation very lightly and showed little to no concern. We went back twice during our trip, hoping for some assistance or at least basic cooperation in checking if the bag had been found or turned in. However, each time we were met with indifference. There was no serious effort to help, no empathy, and no sense of responsibility toward customers. As tourists in a new country, we expected at least some level of support or understanding. Instead, the complete lack of concern made us feel unsafe and unwelcome. Experiences like this leave a very negative impression of not just the establishment, but the overall sense of safety in the city. I would strongly urge the management to train their staff to handle such situations with more seriousness, empathy, and accountability.

As an Indian tourist visiting Almaty for the first time, I had a very disturbing experience with this police station on 93 Kabanbay Batyr Street on 4th and 5th April. I lost my iPhone along with a bag containing cash on3 3rd night and approached the police next day with the Find My iPhone location, hoping for prompt assistance. However, the response I received was shockingly careless and indifferent. I visited the station three times, and each time I had to explain my situation from scratch to a different officer. There was no coordination, no sense of urgency, and absolutely no empathy. Despite providing live location details, the officers showed no real interest in helping us recover the items. What was most frustrating was the lack of honesty and clarity. When I directly asked if there was any realistic chance of recovering my belongings, I was misled rather than given a transparent answer. As a tourist in a foreign country, this felt extremely unsettling and unsafe. This experience left me with a haunting impression of the city. When law enforcement appears uninterested in helping, especially in situations involving tourists, it raises serious concerns about safety and accountability. I sincerely hope the authorities take steps to improve responsiveness, coordination, and basic sensitivity toward visitors in distress.
