Mirobod farmer market

Handy place to nab fruits, vegetables and spices, and check back occasionally for unique vegetables stocked by vendors. The shop selling dairy products also stocks Indian paneer, and there are also excellent honey vendors around. Groceries and household items are also fairly easy to access, though for larger items like furniture or tablecloths, better visit less produce focused markets than Mirobod bazar.

A quaint, tucked away green space nestled amongst well preserved gardens and the ruins of the old city of Termez. Not to be mistaken for the Archeological city museum, this site bears the mausoleum of an eminent islamic scholar and preacher with some preserved artefacts, mostly literary works and scrolls of the history of his sect and of Termez the city itself.

this sprawling monastery is a remnant of the buddist orders of central Asia and dates back to the first century AD. Right off the highway across Termez, there is a ticket station for both Feyaz Tepe and Kara Tepe (billed separately) and is worth getting both. Of the two, Kara Tepe is a larger monastery but is far less excavated and preserved, and is harder to traverse due to the rocky, hilly terrain covering the ruins. The view of the Amudarya river and afghan border is breathtaking, especially during sunset.

A lonesome, towering remnant of the Kushana dynasty and its heritage over it's northern frontier. Zurmala is a brief stopping point towards or returning from the larger complexes at Feyaz tepe, but is of the same lineage and historicity.

A vast, tucked away ruin a short drive outside of Termez, across the canal near Shurob city. The remnants of the early military and economic capital of the Seleukid and Bactrian empires, the excavated palace grounds, residential quarters and ampitheatre cover a vast sprawling space. There may be some confusion locating the place due to it being hard to find on local map services like Yandex. Search for Kempyr Tepe and wear good shoes to cover the hilly excavated terrain, and take in the eeire, bygone splendour of the edges of hellenic influence in Asia.

A busy, tidy joint serving juicy, freshly prepared and piping hot burgers and fries. Even the ramadan fasting days does not impede the good quality of the food or service, and the evening rush can be bypassed by a midday visit. We experienced minimal waiting time, and ordered three burgers, a lavash and some fries. The food was a little slow to arrive but very good quality which made up for it, and they even added vegetables to the burger on request so the staff are very accommodating. The location is also very convenient, situated near other areas of the central market district, as well a hop away from tourist sites like the Archeological Museum of Termez. A nice pit stop while shopping or driving through Termez city.

A pristine waterfall enmeshed amidst starkly beautiful rocky hills. A midway point between cities like Samarkand and Termez, the long drive across the verdant hills, riverine valley and the pristine natural beauty of the site itself is worth a day visit. There are stairs and ramps built to the actual waterfall itself, and while not the roaring, foamy waterfalls one envisions, there is a rustic, serene charm to the lichen blooms, the bubbling waters and the cool valley
